A mystical encounter at a campground that connects to loss and eternal life.
Verse 1
I met them at a campground
A girl in a bikini
And a young guy
They were a little drunk
And they were longing to get high
They both shouted 'we sell meat'
But when they saw me stumbling
They came down to help me
When they saw me stumble on the beach
Verse 2
They asked me to play my guitar
So I jumped on the kitchen table
And played them a tune
The girl ran around in circles and ran off
But the boy photographed me on his cell phone
Verse 3
He said, 'my mom was a writer, she played guitar
And sang real sweet and high. She wrote a song
For me called, Jesse Your Eyes are Like the Sky.'
Well I jumped down from the picnic table
And asked him
Where is your mom now?
And he said, 'you are her angel,
She was in an accident.'
Chorus
And I said, Jesse, your eyes are like the sky
And you're right Jesse, we live forever
We never die
Outro
How well I remember that day
We all jumped in and went swimming
We were a little tanked and for a minute there
I thought we'd all be swept away
